Technical Notes for Seamless Fittings - up to 36":
Fittings to be manufactured starting from seamless pipes. Fittings made from forged blocks and machined to required dimensions are not accepted. Cold formed fittings undergo heat treatment after forming.
Technical Notes for Welded Fittings - from 24" up to 96":
-ELBOWS Manufactured with 1 longitudinal weld seam are acceptable. Manufactured in 2 halves from plates are also acceptable if the 2 half shells are welded together by S.A.W. (sub arc welding) of 2 longitudinal weld seams. -
TEES from 26" to 96"
-Tees with 1 weld seam, longitudinal and opposite to the extruded branch. Tees welded on crotch (circumferential weld) as well as lengthening of an extruded outlet by means of a circumferential weld in the cylindrical part of the branch is not allowed.
REDUCERS from 26" to 96"
-Conical reducers with 1 longitudinal seam acceptable subject to length (quote "H") as specified in ASME B16.9 and more in details: Sizes from 26" to 44" H=610mm Sizes 46" and 96" H=711mm
All weld seams must be 100% X-ray examined acc. ASME VII Div. 1, paragraph UW-51 with a Joint factor
